Says GV: “We wanted a raw voice and director Vijay suggested Vikram’s name. The actor got it right in two takes and the song is sure going to rock. Vikram has sung in five different voices and we were all awestruck by how he changed his voice to suit the characters (like a Dhobi, an old man and teacher) that he was crooning”.
The album of Madrasapattinam is going to be truly different with a beautiful Ghazal, a peppy number Pookal Pookkum Tharunam which is a blend of western and Indian classical sung by Roop Kumar Rathod, Harini, GV and Andrea.
Another song Vaama Doraiamma.. sung by Udit Narayanan has voices of late Cochin Haneefa and heroine Amy Jackson which has an old Madras feel to it. Aaruyire.. and Katrile.. sung by Hariharan and Rhea are the other songs in the album.
Adds GV: There are five songs and two theme numbers and it will be a rocking album after my Aayirathil Oruvan. The audio will be launched by the end of March”.
